Gate House of Prayer

Tomorrow is the day!  Tomorrow we will begin a new season at Church of the Gate when we kick off the Gate House of Prayer (GHOP).  Join us at 7PM for our weekly prayer meeting in the Burn Worship Room Wednesday Sept 7th!  Hope to see everybody there.  This is only the start to what God has planned for our House of Prayer!

BHOP Transitioning to GHOP

Hey everybody!!

Some exciting news to share with you all.  Starting in Sept (Sept 7th to be exact), BHOP(Burn House of Prayer) will change it’s name to GHOP(Gate House of Prayer). Along with the name change we will be switching nights from Tuesday to Wednesday still from 7-8PM in the Burn Worship Room at Church at the Gate!

This change comes with great excitement and anticipation to what God has in store for the future of the Gate House of Prayer at Church at the gate.  We will be still leading an hour long prayer meeting but it comes along side with the Small groups for all ages that our church offers each Wednesday.  We will conclude the night with Intercession and Worship.  So starting SEPT 7TH join us as we launch GHOP(Gate House of Prayer)

Transformation 2011

Hey people, This next week we will be a part of “Transformation 2011″.  Take part in this whole week if you are able to.  We will be playing Sunday night for the kick off and we will also be playing Tuesday night.  Join us during this week and let your heart be transformed for the start of school and lift up others for school!! Below is a schedule and brief description on what is going on!

Everyone is invited to a week of media fasting, prayer and intercession for our students going back to school this week and next week. We are calling all families with school age to a media fast and prayer. We will be launching this event this Sunday at 6:00pm in the sanctuary with worship, a teaching setting up this week and intercession. ALL are invited to join us this Sunday night.

Here is the schedule for the week:

Sunday, August 14 – 6:00pm-7:30pm

Invitation to all parents and students for the vision of media fasting, worship and intercession

Monday, August 15 – 7:00pm-9:00pm

Worship and Prayer focus on Homeschoolers, O’Gorman and Sioux Falls Christian School

Tuesday, August 16 – 7:00pm-9:00pm

Worship and Prayer focus on all schools in Sioux Falls School District. ie: Lincoln, Roosevelt, Washington, etc.

Wednesday, August 17 – 7:00pm-9:00pm

Worship and Prayer focus on Brandon, Harrisburg and Tea Schools

Thursday, August 18 – 6:00pm-7:30pm

Worship and Prayer focus on Parker, Hartford, Baltic and Tri-Valley Schools

Friday, August 19 – 7:00pm-9:00pm

Worship and Prayer focus College Campuses.

Saturday, August 20 – 6:30pm-9:00pm

First Priority Awakening at McKennan Band Shell. Gather/Worship/Pray

Sunday, August 21 – 7:00pm-8:00pm

Back to School Blessing over Teachers and Administrators.

All Worship and Prayer times will be held at Church at the Gate except for Saturday night

Band Needs

Hey everybody!!

Posting here real quick because we have some needs in the Burn Worship Band due to people going on tour with their band and families moving to other cities.  But we have needs for Drums, Bass, Electric, Sound and Powerpoint.  We are also looking for additional people to add to Piano, Accoustic, and Vocals.  If you are interested Comment or text or call me at 507-227-7177.  We are looking for Youth and/or Young adults(you’re never to old actually!).   Contact me interested!

Opportunities

In the Burn Worship Band we are looking for some people to fill positions.  We are looking for people who would be willing to commit to Tuesdays from 6-8 and Sunday from 4-7 to do sound and powerpoint.  We will be willing to work around schedules and do a rotation if we have enough people.

God is moving in a big way! Sound and Powerpoint people are key to bringing in the spirit.  If you are interested feel free to leave a comment or call Tim Boen at 507-227-7177!!

Special BHOP

Hey everybody,

Wanted to let you all know that this saturday (April 16th) the Burn worship band will be taking BHOP on the road.  We will be doing BHOP Saturday night from 5-6:30 PM at life church in Sioux Falls.  That is located on 11th and grange(in that area).  Come check it out, there will also be other bands from IHOP(International House of Prayer in Kansas City) doing worship and prayer alongside us.  Come check it out.  Leave comments with questions for more details!

Living a life of worship

So I was searching youtube the other day listening to different Jesus Culture songs and I came upon this clip of Kim Walker-Smith preaching on living a lifestyle of worship.  This video just struck me in different ways.  This has been what I have been praying for in our worship band and God has been transforming my heart and the hearts of our band.  He is also bring other people into our band who have this heart and live this lifestyle.

God is moving and transforming hearts, are we ready?  Thats the word that I keep getting when i’m praying for the future of our Youth and our Band.  The quote in this video that Kim says really hits me is “If you want to have a 24/7 Worship connection with God, you need to have an Un-Offended heart”!!  That just hits me hard.  How hard is it to not be offended?  Its so hard but with God we can transform our hearts and live this life of worship.

If we get this idea and live this lifestyle our ministries will be transformed.  Worship will be in everything we do and consume us daily!  I LOVE TO WORSHIP!!  Thats all I can think about right now.  God has been transforming my heart and I pray that he is yours as well.  We have been seeing this transformation every Tuesday night during our house of prayer(BHOP).  God is moving there, and its getting better because we are daily practicing this lifestyle.  So watch this video and let your heart be transformed!

A Life Consumed In Worship

Over this last week I have been trying to figure out how to take my worship to even greater levels.  All that comes to my mind is to consume my life in worship.  In all that I do I can worship God.  When i’m at work, when i’m driving, when i’m walking, when i’m reading my bible.  I can worship!

Since I have been trying to consume my life in worship I can already tell that my heart is changed when I worship.  When I worship i’m not focused on if i’m playing the right chords or how do I look (I hope my fly isn’t down!).  But now i’m fixing my eyes on Christ as I worship.  Since i’m doing this I know that God is present and there.  On Tuesday when we were doing BHOP while leading worship I know the Holy Spirit was directing that service.  I tried to close with prayer because of time but I physically was pulled away from the Mic!  God is with us when we worship and He is worthy of ALL of our worship and praise.

Since I have been asking God for greater revelation of this he is making it obvious.  For example today when I was messing around on my phone I opened up Angry Birds to play that game.  But when I opened that up I felt a strong presence and tugging in my heart saying “Your Bible app is right next to that game, maybe you should read that instead”.  So what did I do, I closed that game and read my bible!  This mindset is changing my life.

So if you want to increase your worship, whether as a band or individual how you do this is by consuming your life in worship.  God is waiting there for us to receive him in all that we do. Since I and our band have been doing this our House of prayer(BHOP) has been getting exponentially greater.  For example, Tuesday night alone we had 2 people have visions, 1 person get slain in the spirit, 1 person singing in tongues and 1 person interpreting the tongues.  GOD IS MOVING, ARE WE READY!!!

God is moving and it’s only going to get greater.  BHOP is going to get greater, our worship is going to get greater.  A move of the holy spirit is coming, so be prepared by consuming your life in worship! He will take you deeper in encounter than you could ever imagine!!  ARE YOU READY!!!

Fill Me Up

Hey guys,

You all need to listen to this song, it is by “United Pursuit Band”.  This song is striking the core of me!  I’ve heard it before and lead it in worship but tonight it is just doing something different to me.  I’m realizing while listening to it that this is the reason we worship.  TO BE FILLED UP!!  God is just waiting for us to cry out to him and come together with the spirit and cry out to him.

We don’t worship for us we worship our Lord.  We long for him to fill us up.  I feel empty when i’m worshiping and not fixing my eyes on God.  When I worship just because I enjoy music and think I look cool playing my guitar I am missing the point of worship.  Worship is us coming together and singing praises to our God.  We are declaring the name of Jesus.  When we cry out God will fill us up.  Let this song reach you the way it has reached me!  Just close your eyes and look to God when you listen to it!
